Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-T1HZHVX4BT) sets _ga and _ga_* cookies, which last up to two years and hold a random identifier used to count visits and returning visitors. Google's description of the data is at policies.google.com. These cookies are set only on difflocked.com, and in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland only after you allow them. We detect where you are from your browser's time zone, not from your IP address, so the banner may occasionally appear elsewhere; it is harmless to answer either way.

Essential storage (no consent needed)

The site sets no cookies of its own. It uses your browser's local storage — which is never sent to us — for things you would expect it to remember: your sign-in token if you have an account, your saved garage and creator drafts, your imagery choice (renders or models), the collection's layout, whether the expeditions map is folded away, the leaderboard's browser identifier for retrying a submission, and your answer to the cookie banner. Clearing site data in your browser removes all of it.

Third-party content

Map libraries and fonts load from cdnjs.cloudflare.com and Google Fonts; loading a file discloses your IP address to that host as any web request does, but they set no cookies for this site. Links to Wikimedia Commons, Instagram and other sites are subject to those sites' own policies once you follow them.
