LAND48 — Lucas Trans-Global Expedition

Philip Avery and Gillian Hurley drove LAND48 around the world in 1998–99, attending Land Rover's fiftieth-anniversary events along the way. Avery's mechanical account identifies chassis R860778, its 1,595 cc engine and 32,311-mile journey without a puncture. He retained a canvas tilt and original seating, adding seat belts, indicators, a temperature gauge, a bonnet lock and an auxiliary fuel tank. The spare moved to the bonnet. Original-pattern T28 tyres were replaced with radials during the journey.

The model follows the departure photograph published by the Series One Club: dark green body and wheels, brown canvas, bonnet spare and Lucas expedition markings. Tiny sponsor lettering is simplified. New Zealand is the operator's home; the existing queue field also lists route countries and has been preserved for review rather than silently rewritten.
