History
The Unidad Militar de Emergencias runs its own military police Aníbals in a yellow-lettered livery with chequered flashes.
Military police work is one of the roles the army fleet covers. The Unidad Militar de Emergencias, the joint military emergency unit created in 2005, took 225 Aníbals of its own and runs military police vehicles among them. These wear a more conspicuous scheme suited to working alongside civil emergency services on public roads: army green with 'POLICIA MILITAR' in yellow along the bonnet and body sides, a yellow-and-black chequered flash along the waist, a blue light bar and the UME's roof rack and spare wheel.
