History
The Kelpie’s bigger parallel: 2,694 built, 7.85 tonnes in battle order, 4 m long, with a 4.1-litre Stoneleigh 27 six of 102 hp, a turret like the Tetrarch light tank’s carrying a 2-pounder and a coaxial Besa, three crew, 50 mph and 200 miles.
The Mk I CS carried a 76 mm close-support gun; the Mk II had a better turret, gun mount and radiator and a driver’s escape hatch; and the turretless command version was known as the SOD, the Sawn-Off Stoneleigh.
