The record

Delivered to Brighton Fire Brigade on 7 March 1967, HUF 999E served the Lanes, marina and coastal rescue calls before retirement in 1988. HCB-Angus of Totton, Southampton fitted its bodywork, establishing United Kingdom construction and operation. The 2022 auction recorded continued preservation by a family who had operated it.

The model follows the auction photographs: red body and wheels, smooth top-hinged aluminium locker lids, an aluminium extension ladder between red roof trays, wing mirrors, a capstan, roof horns and an offside blue beacon. A recessed nearside pump bay, rear work lights and square rear registration complete the fittings.

The listing contradicts itself on pump capacity, stating 300 gallons per hour in Exterior and 300 gallons per minute in Mechanical. Neither rating is treated as confirmed.
