Red Land Rover Defender 110 truck cab converted into a wheel-lift recovery truck by an independent Dhaka operator — chequer band, '24 hrs Recovery Vehicle' and phone-number signage, basket roof rack with amber light bar, snorkel and a bed-mounted boom — photographed on Airport Road, Dhaka, in December 2017 hauling a crashed SUV.
Dhaka's traffic keeps a trade of small recovery operators busy, and old Defenders — many of them ex-government or aid-agency vehicles sold on in Bangladesh — make cheap, tough wreckers. This one is a 110 truck cab fitted with a wheel-lift boom on the bed so it can pick up a car by its front wheels and tow it clear, advertised as a 24-hour service with the operator's phone number on the doors and on a board across the roof rack.
The December 2017 Flickr photograph shows it on Airport Road towing a wrecked SUV: red 110 truck cab with a red roof, a black-and-white chequer band along the lower doors and bed sides, Recovery Vehicle and 0447 8 888 888 lettering on the doors, a basket roof rack over the cab carrying a white phone-number board and an amber light bar, a snorkel on the left A-pillar, black steel wheels and the wheel-lift boom at the rear. The Bengali plate is not legible and is left blank. The registry model reproduces that vehicle in the Breakdown group; the operator is known only by its signage.
