History

Brandweer Kalmthout's Runner Long double-cab pickup K11 (1-DSY-925), built by AB Technics in 2012 for the volunteer brigade whose heathland reserve on the Dutch border is Belgium's most fire-prone terrain — a one-off in Belgium used for reconnaissance at vegetation fires and any task off the made-up roads.

In 2012 the municipality bought a Runner Long double-cab pickup and had AB Technics fit it out as a multi-purpose off-road vehicle (MZF / terreinwagen), callsign K11, registration 1-DSY-925: four-wheel drive with a 45 kN hydraulic front winch, raised air intake, roof rack with spot lamps, side underrun protection, lockers and lighting on the load bed, tow hitch, radio and data terminals and GPS. Its warning lights are Code 3 XT4 strobes — four to the front and four to the side on the roof rack and two in the grille — with a Code 3 CommandStick traffic advisor. bos-fahrzeuge.info describes it as unique in Belgium; it is used above all for reconnaissance at vegetation fires. The registry's model is a red Runner Long double cab with the cab rack, spot lamps and strobes, snorkel, winch, BRANDWEER KALMTHOUT lettering and yellow/blue door stripes, chequer bed lockers, white bed trim, 112 badge, steps, mud flaps and white wheels; in the game it carries the blue-light boost and winch pickups.
