History

Zipkin (Turkish for 'harpoon') is Aselsan's pedestal-mounted short-range air defence system, developed alongside the tracked Atilgan for the Turkish armed forces. On the Runner the pedestal turret sits on a flat box body behind a single cab and carries two four-round Stinger launcher pods, a 12.7 mm machine gun, a thermal camera, laser rangefinder and IFF, networked to the battery command post; the crew fire from inside the cab or by remote. defenceturk.net's photograph shows the vehicle in three-tone camouflage with a snorkel, whip aerials on the bonnet and wing and louvred body sides. The registry's model is a Runner Long in camouflage with the snorkel, aerials, black grille, louvred box body and the pedestal turret with Stinger pods and gun; in the game the turret fires and can be jettisoned as cargo. The queue's own image link pointed at a Phalanx CIWS thumbnail, so the user-supplied defenceturk.net photograph was used instead.
