Description
Single-stage oil-cooled rotary vane compressor mounted completely below the floor of a long-wheelbase Land Rover, driven through the gearbox and power take-off in top gear at 2,300 rpm to give 100 cfm at 100 psi, enough for two concrete breakers, while leaving the load bed clear. A pressure-sensitive governor control drops the engine to 1,600 rpm when the receiver is full.

Rarity. UK-only approved conversion for public authorities and contractors on a modified 109 chassis; lroe notes Broom-Wade fitted bottom PTOs for underfloor compressors, but no surviving example was found for sale.
