Manual free-wheeling front hubs with two indicated positions, 4x2 for the road and 4x4 for off road, pre-selected by hand without rocking the vehicle. Fairey took over the MAP hub business in 1972, won the AA Seal of Approval on 14 February 1974, and their own redesigned hub replaced the MAP pattern in the mid-1970s, later becoming a Land Rover factory-fit option and being adapted for the One Ten in 1983.
