Description
The late-1970s successor to the GRP VPK for Land Rovers in Northern Ireland: hardened-steel bolt-on armour plates and a completely new armoured-glass windscreen fitted to Series III 109s and Lightweights, nicknamed 'Piglet'. It stopped high-velocity rounds that the GRP kit could not, at the cost of an unladen weight over 2,500 kg.
Interim measure pending the 110 Armoured Patrol Vehicle of 1986
Rarity. An interim Northern Ireland kit superseded by the 110 APV (1986) and Snatch (1992); withdrawn by 1994 and not seen on the surplus market.
