Description

NP Aerospace's pressure-formed fibreglass-and-resin composite armour for the Defender 110 (TUM): a complete protected rear shell, front bulkhead, cab floor and doors that give a six-man patrol vehicle protection against kinetic-energy small-arms fire and limited blast protection while staying under 3,500 kg GVW. Officially the 'TUM with Vehicle Protection Kit', universally the Snatch; developed with Ricardo, around 1,000 procured from 1991, on patrol in Northern Ireland from 1992 and in Bosnia from 1993.

Fitted on the military 110 (TUM) chassis; Snatch Vixen (2008) moved the body onto an uprated chassis and drivetrain

Rarity. 991 built for the British Army from 1991-92 and kept in service through Iraq and Afghanistan; hulls have been released to dealers and donated abroad (Ukraine 2022), so complete vehicles are obtainable but the composite body is not sold as a separate kit.
