Description
The mine-protection retrofit applied to every remaining Australian SASR Long Range Patrol Vehicle after an LRPV struck a mine in the Helmand valley in February 2002: armour plates fitted beneath the vehicle floor and shock-absorbent (blast-attenuating) crew seats. In May 2006 the SEK-fitted LRPV 'One Fitty' hit a pressure-plate IED in Afghanistan and its crew escaped with one minor leg injury.
