The first of the tub-bodied 'Sankey' family: a welded-steel watertight ½-ton two-wheeled cargo trailer with pressed X panels in the sides, designed for the Champ but issued behind Series I/II Land Rovers. The Mk1 was made by Brockhouse of Clydebank and by Sankey; the same chassis carried the 100-gallon water tank, the P45 compressor, the 3½ kVA generating set, the jointers' body and radio-station bodies.

Description

Rarity. Built for the Austin Champ era from 1952-53 and superseded by the ¾-ton FV2361 in the mid-1960s; a few soldiered on into the early 1970s behind Series Land Rovers, and the Military Lightweight Forum describes survivors as very rare and heavy restorations.
